Games and Puzzles

Another of the Smart Games we keep on our shop counter.  This is really for children 3 to 6 year olds but it still makes many adults think.

There is a booklet with 48 challenges telling you where to place the pigs on the board.  In the first half, it is daytime and the wolf is not around, so you position the three houses on the board with the pigs outside the houses.  In the second half, the wolf appears, so you have to place the houses in such a way that the pigs are safely inside and the wolf outside.

Single person brain game for children aged 4 to 7 with 48 challenges of varying difficulty.

Put Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma's House and the three trees on the board and then place the path pieces so that Little Red Riding Hood can get to the house.  In the harder puzzles, the wolf comes in and needs his own path to the house.

A flipping good brain game for children aded four and up.

You have to arrange the beanstalk (and Jack and the giant) so that it looks like the picture in the challenge.  The problem is that you can only put the pieces in from the top and, as they fall, they flip over.  So you have to work out how to put the pieces in so that, when they land, they are facing the right direction.

Booklet with 60 different challenges which get progressively harder.

Age suitability: 4-7 years.

Be the first to find all four vegetables in this early years board game but first you have to remember where they are hidden under the leaves..

Traditional backgammon game with wooden board, counters and dice.

The board measures about 28 cm across.

Easy bingo-type game for preschool children.  One player picks a picture card and says what it is.  Then the player with that image on their board claims the picture and places it on their board.   The first player to complete their board wins the game.
